Mackenzie Thomas, AuD, CCC-A

Audiologist/Owner

Welcome to Altitude Audiology! My journey in audiology began in the beautiful landscapes of Wyoming, where I graduated from the University of Wyoming. In 2002, I moved to San Antonio, Texas, to start my career in audiology. My early work as a cochlear implant specialist provided me with invaluable experience, and I later transitioned into a role where I monitored the brain and spinal cord during surgeries in the operating room.

Over the years, my passion for audiology led me to specialize in the hearing aid field. After spending over a decade with a large local ENT group, I embarked on a new adventure. I opened my private practice, Altitude Audiology, in 2019 in the charming community of Spring Branch, TX. The name "Altitude Audiology" reflects my roots in the Rocky Mountains, where altitude is an advantage and symbolizes my commitment to helping patients reach new heights in their hearing health.

In my practice, I deeply value kindness and believe in treating each patient as family. This compassionate approach ensures that everyone who walks through our doors feels welcomed, understood, and cared for. Beyond my professional life, I'm proud to be the wife of a Navy veteran who now serves as a firefighter. We have two wonderful children and a household filled with love for animals. My affection for animals extends to the wild ones around our office, where I enjoy caring for them.

I am committed to providing my patients with the highest level of care and helping them improve their quality of life through better hearing.I'd like to invite you to explore our services and reach out if you have any questions orneed assistance. Let's embark on this journey to better hearing together!

Tom Call, AuD, CCC-A

Audiologist

Welcome to Altitude Audiology! I'm Dr. Tom Call, and I’m excited to be part of your journey to better hearing.

My roots are in the breathtaking landscapes of Utah, where I developed a passion for linguistics and communication. I graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics, then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education. I ultimately earned my Doctorate in Audiology from Utah State University.

My career has taken me from the majestic mountains of Utah to the bustling cities of Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, and now San Antonio, Texas. Along the way, I’ve gained extensive experience in treating hearing loss, fitting hearing aids, and working with cochlear implants and vestibular disorders. I’m committed to excellence in clinical practice and deeply passionate about humanitarian work. I've participated in hearing healthcare missions in Kenya, Cambodia, and El Salvador, providing essential services to underserved communities. Additionally, my two-year church mission in Recife, Brazil, allowed me to become fluent in Portuguese and deepen my commitment to serving others.

At Altitude Audiology, I believe in treating every patient like family. We aim to create a warm, welcoming environment where you feel understood and cared for. We’re here to help you reach new heights in your hearing health, inspired by the high-altitude landscapes I love.

When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me enjoying time with my wonderful wife and three daughters, bowling, swimming, or watching a good baseball game. I’m here to provide the highest level of care and help you improve your quality of life through better hearing. I invite you to explore our services and reach out with any questions. Let’s embark on this journey to better hearing together!

Baxter Boo

Baxter Boo

Chief Purr-ations Officer (CPO)

Meet Baxter, Altitude Audiology’s resident diva and self-appointed Chief Purr-ations Officer. This black-and-white queen of sass runs a tight ship, enforcing strict “don’t touch me unless I say so” policies. Known for her sharp opinions and even sharper claws, Baxter only allows a select few into her inner circle—if you’re lucky, you might be one of them!

When she’s not perched in her favorite spot, glaring judgmentally at the staff, Baxter can be found "supervising" office activities, making sure everyone’s on task (or at least entertaining her). She might not offer the warmest welcome, but once you’ve earned her trust, you’ve got a loyal—though still sassy—feline friend. Just don’t expect any cuddles unless you’ve proven yourself worthy!
